ANNOUNCEMENT #1: Over the last six years or so, I have kept my hourly rate at $80 per hour. All through COVID and the hike in interest, I'm finally going to give myself a raise. ANNOUNCEMENT #2: Because of the new tax laws regarding ALL payment Apps, when an entity receives more than $600.00 over the year, they will be sent a tax form from any payment App one may have used. Therefore, Meek Guitar and Mandolin Repair, after January 1st, will NO LONGER accept PayPal as a form of payment. This inconvenience is a necessary change I must do because every dime my small business earns is reported to the IRS already.

I am OPEN Sunday 9am to 9pm, Monday through Friday 4pm to 9pm and I am CLOSED on Saturday.
This is a guitar I got in a while back with a very obvious problem... It was very dirty!! Oh, and also, the headstock seemed to be somewhere else. It's owner handed me the missing piece of the puzzle and he informed me that the guitar had been broken for a very, very long time!
Here is the neck repair half way completed. The crack line is just barely visible. At this point I had the opportunity to carve a new nut.
After color sanding and buffing, the crack is completely invisible on the front of the headstock.

Taking care of clients is my number one priority so, if you need a rush service for your gig tonight, I understand and will take care of you. I am located in Mustang, Oklahoma. Because this is a neighborhood, you MUST make an appointment to visit me in my home shop, or you may ship your instruments to me with full insurance. (All instruments deliver to: The Mustang Post Office in care of David Meek). I will then be notified. This is due to 'porch pirates'. Because I work out of my home, there are no huge overhead costs that have to be passed on to you. I only charge an hourly rate of $100.00, repair costs and all overhead is built into that. I bill by time and not by the job so if something takes 1.5 hours, you already know your cost. I like it EASY. The repair and making of stringed instruments has been in my family for over fifty years. I was personally trained by my Grandfather who owned and operated JIMMIE MEEK Violin and Guitar Shop in Amarillo, Texas. I also hand create guitars for the musician who may need an odd scale length to best fit their fingers. A scale length may be a half inch longer or shorter in order to NATURALLY fit their body. A hand made guitar, ordered from me, will be constructed with you in mind. Everything from the wood choices right down to the size of your hand. The instrument will be as an extension of your own arms! That's my promise to YOU!! |
